September 23, 2017 — Cabinet makers from Fairtlough Restoration, NYC, were at the Somers Library today to install a custom-designed maple cabinet that will serve as the new Community Information Center. A quick aside, Fairtlough was recently hired to build custom cabinets for President Obama’s Washington D.C. home. The Library Foundation also worked with Fairtlough Restoration in 2015 to build the new reference desk.

Modernizing the Library’s main entrance is one of several Foundation projects to beautify, modernize and enrich the capabilities of the Somers Library. Renovating the Library vestibule includes all new lighting, porcelain tile flooring and fresh paint to brighten the space.

Lots of other great Library future projects are also in the works. To learn more about what is planned for the Library visit upcoming library projects.
